Parlance vs WRITER

WRITER is an enterprise AI platform: agents, playbooks and governed brand voice across departments. Parlance does one part of that job in depth: an executive's own communications, written in their voice and reviewed for a public company.

Short answer

WRITER is the better choice for a large organization that wants AI agents and consistent brand voice across many teams, with SSO, audit logs and admin controls. Parlance is the better choice for a CEO, a small IR team or an IR firm that needs one executive's voice done well, with public-company house rules and an optional managed service at $1,999/month. Parlance self-service is $99/month; WRITER doesn't publish its prices.

Two different scopes

WRITER describes itself as agentic AI for the whole organization. The WRITER Agent combines chat and automation; Playbooks and scheduled routines repeat work; a Knowledge Graph connects company data; AI Studio and an agent builder let teams create their own tools. Brand voice is one layer in that platform. WRITER builds a voice profile from examples of your content and connects it to terms lists and style guides.

Parlance is a content system for public-company CEOs and the IR and comms people around them. It's voice-trained on your writing, strategy documents and published content, and it starts with a conversation about the thinking behind your decisions. From there it helps shape distinct ideas, a draft for review and a plan for what to publish next. You can operate it yourself, or a dedicated content lead can run it for you.

Put simply, WRITER helps an organization write consistently at scale. Parlance helps a particular person say something worth reading, in their own voice.

Voice: team brand vs one person

WRITER's voice profiles are built from your best content; WRITER says example-based profiles perform better than written descriptions. Starter includes one team Personality profile, and Enterprise adds departmental profiles, so marketing, support and HR can each have their own. That's what a large company with many writers usually needs: everyone sounding like the company.

Parlance aims for the opposite. The goal is for a CEO's investor email or LinkedIn post to sound like the CEO, not like the company's brand guidelines. It keeps that person's writing samples, goals and approved company material together, and remembers which drafts they rejected and what performed. For an IR firm, each client keeps its own voice, strategy, past communications and review preferences in a separate workspace.

Governance and review

WRITER's governance is broad: guardrails on Starter, then advanced orchestration, approvals, admin controls, audit logs, SSO and SCIM on Enterprise. If your security and IT teams need to sign off on an AI rollout across hundreds of people, that is the right shape of product.

Parlance's rules are narrower and more specific. House rules are Reg FD-aware, avoid stock-promotion phrasing and keep in-progress deal details out of drafts. Review is staged: the main piece is checked first, then the channel versions. Management, IR and counsel keep their role in checking facts and approving the final communication.

Cost and commitment

WRITER doesn't publish prices on its plans page. Its FAQ describes Starter as monthly or annual per-seat plans with fixed credit limits, and Enterprise is contact sales. We couldn't confirm a Starter price from WRITER's own site.

Parlance publishes both prices. Self-service is $99/month for one voice and one seat. The managed service is $1,999/month and includes a dedicated content lead, a weekly strategic review and team access. Both are billed monthly. Access is currently invite-only.

Choose WRITER instead if…

  • You're rolling out AI across many departments, not just communications.
  • You need SSO, SCIM, audit logs and admin controls for IT and security review.
  • You want different voice profiles for marketing, support, HR and other teams.
  • You want to build your own agents and connect them to company data.
  • You'd like to try it first with a 14-day trial.

Choose Parlance instead if…

  • The priority is one executive's writing, not organization-wide AI.
  • You're a smaller public company where the CEO still writes the important pieces.
  • You want public-company house rules without configuring an enterprise platform.
  • You want a person to run the work for you on a monthly contract.

Frequently asked questions

How much does WRITER cost?
WRITER's plans page lists two plans, Starter and Enterprise, and doesn't publish a price for either. Starter has a 14-day free trial with no credit card; Enterprise is contact sales. We couldn't confirm a Starter price from WRITER's own site, so we haven't quoted one.
Is WRITER only for large companies?
No, but that's where it's strongest. Starter covers up to 5 users with 1 team Personality profile. The features WRITER leads with, such as departmental voice profiles, approvals, audit logs and SSO, are on Enterprise.
Does Parlance work for a whole company, like WRITER?
Not in the same way. Parlance is focused on executive and investor communications: one voice per profile, drafted and reviewed carefully. The managed service adds team access for IR, comms and executives. If you need AI agents across sales, HR and operations, WRITER is the better fit.
Which handles compliance better?
They approach it differently. WRITER offers governance features such as guardrails, approvals and, on Enterprise, audit logs and admin controls. Parlance's house rules are specific to public-company communication: Reg FD awareness, no stock-promotion phrasing and no in-progress deal details. In both cases a person still approves the final text.
